Today I have added some images that require more advanced imaging systems, namely scanning electron microscopes. For some years the ‘gear’ at the Institute of Geology of Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland) has successfuly been used, and a lot of interesting micrographs had been prepared there with kind help of Mrs. Anna Łatkiewicz. More is still to be done! Enjoy some examples here:
Chrysis inaequalis Dahlbom, 1845 (SEM)
Hedychrum chalybaeum Dahlbom, 1854 (SEM)
Hedychrum niemelai Linsenmaier, 1959 (SEM)
Paramyrmosa brunnipes (Lepeletier, 1845) anaglyph
Stilbum cyanurum (Foerster, 1771) anaglyph
Remebrer! Watching anaglyph images require red–cyan glasses. Enjoy!
The new book by Bogdan Wiśniowski is a monograph of Chrysididae of Poland. It was published in 2015 as the second volume of the series of books on Polish Hymenoptera Aculeata. Another volume will be published in 2017.
Some more information about the book you can find here:
Cuckoo-wasps (Hymenoptera: Chrysididae)
I am starting this site to promote images, books and information about Polish Hymenoptera as well as other insects. The site is currently under construction; the information will be published gradually. I hope you will like it!
